Macduff is a popular seaside resort whose twin town is Banff. They are separated by Banff Bridge which spans the River Deveron. Banff is a fairly quiet town while Macduff is a busy fishing port. Duff House in Banff is an impressive Georgian baroque style mansion completed in 1749 and has been a hotel, hospital, POW camp, and is now an art gallery with a collection of paintings borrowed from the National Gallery of Scotland. The House hosts regular live performances including theater and dance. Macduff has a good attraction of its own: the Marine Aquarium, which is an enthusiastic place and interesting because it focuses on local species only.
