Brixham is known for its fisherman’s cottages leading down to the horseshoe shaped harbor. It is one of England’s busiest working fishing ports. Although it is picturesque, Brixham is far from being a neatly packages resort town, and still offers a gritty charm that gives a glimpse into life along Devon’s coast. You can view a full sized replica of Devon seafarer Sir Francis Drake’s ship the Golden Hind in the Brixham Harbor. The displays at the Brixham Heritage Museum explore the town’s history with exhibits on smuggling.
