Newport lies at the mouth of the River Nevern in attractive Newport Bay. The town is dominated by the rocky outcrop of Carn Ingli, and Newport makes a great base for discovering the Preseli Hills just a few miles inland. There are also several beaches, of which Parrog Beach and Newport Sands are the most popular. The village is also home to the Newport Collective, a group of artists who collaborate to promote and sell local crafts. The tourist office can suggest local walks. You can try the town trail, a section of coast path, a hike up Carn Ingli, or the picturesque Gwaun Valley leading to the Preseli Hills. Cycling is also good here, and you can again try the Gwaun Valley or for mountain biking you can try the hilly Preseli bridleways.
