Llandrinod Wells is a Victorian spa town that struck gold by touting its special waters to the well-to-do who visited here. The grand architecture of the era is visible throughout the town and its is mostly popular with older vacationers. You can still take a drink directly from the chalybeate spring in historic Rock Park, or walk around the lake. Every August the locals wind back the clock for a week long Victorian Festival. The tourist office shares a building of an Art Nouveau car showroom which also houses the National Cycle Exhibition, which tells the story of push-bikes through the ages. Llandrinod lies on the Heart of Wales line.
