Hull is an English seaport town with a proud seafaring tradition. The city’s main attraction is The Deep, a colossal aquarium that stands at the edge of the port and offers great views across the Humber River. Inside you can enjoy commentaries and computer animated interactive exhibits on how the seas were formed. The largest aquarium in The Deep contains 2.5 million liters of water. Hull also has a nice collection of city museums. The Ferens Art Gallery was built in 1927 and has a nice collection that includes works by Stanley Spencer and Peter Blake. The Maritime Museum celebrates the town’s long maritime traditions and includes some enormous whale skeletons. The Streetlife Transport Museum has recreated streets from the 1930s, and also has a nice garden. The Hull and East Riding Museum traces local history from Roman times to the present day.
