Rangers Football Club
When you think of Scottish football, it is impossible not to think of Rangers Football Club. Their distinctive club colours of Ranger F.C; royal blue, white and red. Rangers, as one of the ten founding members in the Scottish Football League, are justifiably an icon of Scottish football. They have kept their place as one of the top contenders in the league over the years, remaining in Scotland's top division up until the end of the recent 2011-12 season.
Rangers hold their own among any team from any footballing nation, as in domestic football they have won more trebles and league titles than any other team worldwide, winning the Scottish Football League a total of 54 times, the Scottish cup 3 times and the Scottish League Cup 27 times. They can also claim to their name achieving the treble of all three titles in the same season seven times, another record.
Among European football, Rangers hold the record of being the first British team to reach a UEFA tournament final, and actually won the European Cup Winner's Cup in 1972, along with holding the runner up place for the same cup in 1961 and 1967 and again in 2008.
